The Heart Behind Navigating The Tide

Hello! I’m Emily, educator, behavior analyst student, and the heart behind Navigating The Tide, LLC!

I created Navigating The Tide from a deep belief that families deserve support that is compassionate, practical, and rooted in understanding. Over the years, working in early childhood education and alongside neurodivergent children and their families, I began noticing the same thing again and again. Parents were overwhelmed, exhausted, and often left trying to navigate complex behaviors without enough guidance and support.

I knew there had to be a gentler and more connected way forward.

As an Exceptional Children’s Pre-K Teacher and BCBA student analyst, my work is centered around helping families better understand behavior, strengthen connection, and create supportive environments where children can thrive. I’m especially passionate about helping caregivers feel empowered rather than judged. Parenting support should never feel cold, clinical, or impossible to apply in real life. At the core of everything I do is the belief that both children and parents deserve compassion while learning new skills.

As I gained more experience working with children and families, I began noticing another gap. Much of the behavior support available to parents didn’t feel truly family-centered. Advice was often overly clinical, rigid, or built around one-size-fits-all systems that didn’t account for real families, real stressors, real schedules, and real children.

That realization deeply shaped my approach. I believe behavior support should be natural, developmentally informed, and adaptable to the individual child and family. Parents deserve guidance that feels approachable and sustainable, not overwhelming or disconnected from everyday life.

Beyond my professional work, I’m someone who loves simple living, creativity, and finding beauty in everyday moments. Some of my favorite things are going to the beach, Disney, and finding unique things at local thrift stores.

Navigating The Tide is more than just a blog or business to me. It’s a space built with intention. One where education, development, encouragement, and collaboration can exist together.

I’m so glad you’re here!
